For the comfort of your pet, we request that you give them ample time to eliminate prior to your appointment or drop off.
When patients have accidents in the treadmill, properly cleaning and disinfecting the equipment and water
supply can take up to three hours, impacting other patients’ treatments. The first time a pet has an accident
in the underwater treadmill, there is no charge. Repeated incidents will result in a $50 cleaning fee in addition
to the cost of the appointment. If a patient has multiple accidents, we will develop an alternative treatment
plan that focuses on other modalities instead of the underwater treadmill.
Due to space limitations,
we are unable to have owners present during sessions. If your pet requires special accomodations, we are happy to work with you to find a solution with which everyone is comfortable.
To receive care at our practice, patients must either be up to date on their rabies vaccination or they must
have a blood test done once a year to determine whether they have an adequate level of antibodies against
the rabies virus present in their system. As long as an adequate level is demonstrated each year, we will
allow that patient to forego vaccination. If the test comes back showing an inadequate level of antibodies,
we will require that patient to receive a rabies booster prior to receiving any further care.
On rare occasions, the underwater treadmill may need urgent attention or maintenance. If this occurs, we can supplement your pet’s therapy with additional exercises, where applicable, or work with you to reschedule the appointment. We do everything we can to avoid such instances and only allow maintenance to impact appointments when it is a matter of patient safety.
The health and safety of our patients is our utmost priority. If your pet has any vomiting, diarrhea, urinary tract infection, skin irritation, or open wounds, we will be unable to put them in the underwater treadmill. In these cases, we will be happy to work with you to reschedule for a time when your pet is feeling better.
You are always welcome to call ahead of time to discuss your concerns or rescheduling options.
If your pet is dropped off with us and we identify one of these concerns, we will do all treatments that are appropriate based on how they are feeling.
If your pet displays any increased pain or discomfort, we will adjust their treatment to prioritize their comfort and overall progress.
For the safety of your pet we will not utilize the underwater treadmill if there is lightning within 5 miles of our facility.
